IMC Networks, a manufacturer of optical access productions for the LAN, MAN and beyond, recently introduced IMediaChassis/20, an intelligent, carrier-class platform that supports Ethernet, ATM/Sonet, T1E/1, DS3/E3, WDM and CWDM networking technologies.

The platform provides all fiber media conversion, distance extension and bandwidth-scalable Transparent LAN services from the same SNMP managed chassis systems. The end result, the company says, is a reduction in capital and operating expenses.

Features include 20 slots for optical access modules and one slot for an optional SNMP management module. It also provides real-time information on all modules, link and port status, and monitors voltage levels, chassis temperatures and fan speeds.
