Ideal Industries Inc. has introduced a new coax connector tool that works on both the compression-style hex F connectors popular in CATV installations and the BNC style connectors employed for CCTV.

The tool facilitates faster and more efficient installations of video surveillance systems, professional AV equipment and satellite and cable television. The shaft reaches where fingers or a standard wrench cannot to allow installers to slide the tool’s open socket onto a connector and then tighten or loosen it without damaging the termination

Priced at US$26.95, it also has a threaded end that holds F-connectors during cable insertion to ease connector seating against the dielectric and eliminates the chance of injury from the cable centre connector.
