Hilti (Canada) Ltd. has announced the addition of three cast-in Firestop systems that can accommodate all metal or plastic pipes up to six inches in diameter. The systems allow construction specifiers and contractors a fast and simple method of meeting fire and safety codes, the company says.

The devices require no caulking or sealant application on the piping. Instead, they are set in place prior to concrete pouring, allowing a fire-protected passage for the piping to be installed between floors. They are ideal for electrical conduits, cable bundles and multiple pipes. Each is custom cut to fit the needs of each installation.

The CP 680, the original member of the Firestop line, is used to firestop pipes, electrical wires and cabling through concrete floors.
