The SpliceGuard fiber optic fusion splice protector from Greene, Tweed Technologies Inc. protects it from water, humidity, corrosive environments and particulate contamination.

Technical experience is not required to hermetically seal a fusion splice. According to the company, the process is simple and does not require the use of messy and unreliable epoxies or all of the supplies associated with the use of heat shrink tubings.

SpliceGuard is designed to operate in temperatures from 40C-150C and at pressures up to 500 psi. It’s also colour-coded for various types and sizes of fiber and comes in two sizes – 0.150-inch O.D. by 1.5-inch length and 0.100-inch by 1.5-inch length.
