Fluke Networks has unveiled its new 660 Frame Relay Installation Assistant, which can test IP layer throughput, losses and congestion across frame relay LANs and WANs and from a single location with a single operator.

The product is tailored to telecom or Internet service providers who install or maintain frame relay networks, enabling the testing of IP performance of frame relay permanent virtual circuits.

In a typical application, where a remote office is linked to headquarters’ the 660 communicates over the designated frame relay circuit to a Fluke OneTouch Network Assistant, installed on the headquarters’ local area Ethernet network. IP data-grams are transmitted upstream and downstream, and the 660 calculates and displays the results.
