Fluke Networks Canada has released the OptiView DS3/E3, a WAN analyzer that the company says allows users to go from “out of the box to useful data” in 20 minutes.

It is designed to help the network manager, architect or engineer maximize bandwidth investment, troubleshoot link performance issues and proactively monitor suspicious network activity by providing data that optimizes traffic over purchased WAN connections.

For any given WAN link, the DS3/E3 displays the most critical elements of the circuit in a simple at-a-glance screen.

Frame Relay, ATM, PPP and HDLC technologies are all supported. Switching between these different Layer 2 technologies is done by initiating a software configuration change.
