Corning Cable Systems, part of Corning Inc.’s telecommunications segment, recently introduced its Plug & Play Universal System Integrated Trunk Module.

A pre-terminated 12-fiber MTP Connector trunk assembly integrated into a Plug & Play Systems module, the trunk cable is stored in the module and pulled out and deployed to meet exact length requirements, which means precise pre-planning of cable length is not required.

It provides a quick and convenient method for deploying and redeploying optical connectivity in small data centres (main distribution frame to the system equipment cabinet) or large data centres (zone distribution area to the system equipment cabinet). The module eliminates one mated pair in the channel link, resulting in a lower system link-loss.
