Corning Cable Systems has announced the availability of its new UniCam LC multimode and single-mode connector — a small-form-factor connector that requires no epoxy or polishing.

Well suited for networks where high density is a requirement, the connector is designed like a mini pigtail, incorporating a fiber stub that is fully bonded into a ceramic ferrule and factory polished. The opposite field fiber end is precisely cleaved and placed into the patented alignment of the mechanical splice. The field fiber is mated to the fiber stub and the connector is cammed to complete the termination.

Part of the company’s LANscape product line, the connector is field installable and is available in SC-, FC-, ST-compatible and MT-RJ connector styles.
