Toronto-based Call-Net Enterprises Inc., the parent company of Sprint Canada, has formed a new business unit that will focus on marketing voice and IP-based communications systems to small businesses.

Sprint Canada’s SOHO customers will be combined with its Small Business customers to make up the new unit of over 60,000 customers.

“This will allow us to rapidly develop new and innovative products for small businesses, a growing and under-serviced market in Canada,” said Kevin Bennis, President and CEO, Call-Net Enterprises. “There are about two million small businesses in Canada representing the fastest growing segment of the Canadian marketplace.”

John Boynton, previously Call-Net’s VP of Marketing-Residential, has been appointed to lead this new strategic business unit as the VP of Sales and Marketing, Small Business.
