BerkTek and Ortronics have jointly introduced the NetClear GTX UTP cabling systems for support of 10 Gigabit Ethernet as identified by the IEEE 802.3an and TIA augment Cat 6 channel requirements.

The system combines Berk-Tek’s LANmark-10G UTP cable and Ortronics’ Clarity10G UTP connectivity to provide a Shannon capacity of 18 Gb/s beyond the required 500 MHz for reliable 10 Gb/s operation.

It also includes guaranteed 100-metre 10GBASE-T support for standards-compliant channel configurations.

Achieving full channel performance at 10 Gb/s over UTP is no simple matter, the companies say. Without the right cable paired with the right connectors and patch cords, blazing performance, they add, will be replaced by caveats and apologies.
