A new multi-contact crimping system is now available from Atlantic Technologies. Called the P.S.U. 16-22, the tool is suited for applications in the telecom, aerospace, marine and automotive sectors.

The tool records all crimping parameters, as well as the crimping curve produced in real time. Its database holds a variety of information, such as date, time, tool and die references, contact batch and wire numbers. The system monitors the dimensional aspects of the wire and the contact, the type of wire material used and other application variables.

The company says the product’s “smart tool” features — including bar code technology — eliminate the risk of connection mistakes and other errors.
