ADC Telecommunications Inc. has introduced the OmniReach Fiber Distribution Hub (FDH) 3000, a fiber-to-the-premises (FTTP) product that enables optical fiber cabling deployment to a subscriber’s residence, enterprise or other location.

According to the company, FTTP technologies require a new outside plant approach: There is more fiber to manage, a greater need for physical layer access, and the network must be configured for future expansion and upgrades.

The OmniReach FDH 3000 provides for rapid connection between fiber optic cables and passive optical splitters in the outside plant, facilitating fast service connection and reconfiguration. The solution simplifies FTTP network installation, maintenance and management from the central office to the outside plant.
