Ethernet Alliance members will demonstrate select Ethernet technologies at Interop Las Vegas 2008 taking place April 29-May 1 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Centre.

Technologies to be demonstrated at their booth include SFP+, Backplane Ethernet, 10GBASE-T and Power over Ethernet (PoE).

“The alliance continues to play a critical supporting role in the 802 Ethernet industry,” said Aileen Arcilla, senior analyst at IDC.

“These demonstrations will highlight how Ethernet has extended beyond the traditional enterprise network, encouraging 10GE adoption in data centres and Metro Ethernet networks and power distribution via existing Ethernet architectures.”

Demonstrations will include:

* 10G in an enhanced SFP form factor and video exchange between remote PCs through multiple SFP+ / PHY links.

* Supporting error-free 10 Gbps data traffic driven by 10GBASE-KR PHY devices.

* 10 Gigabit Ethernet over 100 metres on copper cabling as specified by the Ethernet and cabling standards with a live traffic interoperability demonstration among servers with network adapters, switches, and test equipment systems.

* PoE switches and PoE midspans powering powered devices.
