Dell launches its ‘next-gen’ storage and networking offeringsComments Off
Dell this week launched new enterprise technology on the eve of its Dell World 2013 user conference in Austin, Tex., which it said is designed to help customers architect new data centres and modernize campus networks, while meeting increasing IT performance and network access demands.
The offerings include the highest-performing Dell EqualLogic storage products to date and higher-speed wireless and simplified campus networking switches. They are designed to help customers architect and build future-ready data centres, which address customer expectations for instant access to information no matter if they are in the office or working remotely, the company said.
The new suite of Dell Networking campus allows an organization to deploy and scale campus networks and maximize efficiency with visibility into the network environment from a single console.
It also secures the devices and information at the network edge, leverage existing investments, and can reduce capital expenses by more than 50%, Dell said in a release at the event, which marked the company’s first since going private in late October.
Full coverage of the impact of that as well as a roundup of other major announcements made at Dell World will appear in the Jan.-Feb. 2014 issue of Connections+.
