Chatsworth Products Inc. (CPI) will present the Data Centre Power & Cooling Efficiency seminar this June in Toronto, Ottawa and Calgary. These events each last one day and offer data centre professionals the opportunity to earn BICSI credits.

According to the company, which will open a sales office and product showroom in Vaughan, Ont. later this month, the need to manage power and cooling efficiencies has become increasingly important in recent years as equipment manufacturers continue to put greater demands on cooling equipment and power availability.

“Energy required to cool the data centre has traditionally constituted 30-50% of the entire data centre energy budget,” said Ian Seaton, CPI global technology manager. “It is the single largest controllable operating expense.”

Speakers from Innovative Research, Universal Electric, Corning Cable Systems, Interstitial Systems, Logicalis and CoolIT Solutions will also participate.

“We will be covering a wide range of material within the data centre focus,” said Seaton. “The different participating companies have previously collaborated on data centre projects and can speak to integrated systems that are known to be interoperable.”
