Cogeco Data Services (CDS) is increasing its data centre space across the Greater Toronto Area, Barrie, Oakville and Vancouver to meet the growing demand for managed information technology services and support for cloud computing initiatives,

Through new construction and its recent acquisition of Quiettouch Inc., CDS will have an estimated 31,500 square metres of data centre space spread across six facilities – one in Vancouver, three in Toronto, one in Barrie and one in Oakville.

“IT infrastructure is not the core competency of most companies and as technology becomes more complex, more companies will be outsourcing their data and IT management, so they can focus on their own areas of expertise,” said Tony Ciciretto, president of Cogeco Data Services.  “The increased load on companies’ IT infrastructure is becoming a tougher challenge to manage on a day-to-day basis.”

The new facilities will be designed, built and operated by CDS.
