CANARIE Inc., Canada’s advanced research and innovation network, has implemented Juniper Networks MX Series Ethernet services routers in a move that will allow researchers to exchange and analyze large volumes of information more quickly.

The network capacity has increased tenfold from 1 GbE to 10 GbE.

The announcement was made concurrent with the “Summit 09” conference in Banff, Alta., which runs through until Friday, October 16.

“As Canadian researchers increasingly engage in complex, multi-disciplinary and multi-sector collaborations with innovators throughout the country and across the globe, it is essential to maintain a robust and reliable network,” said Eric Bernier, the organization’s  chief technology officer .
