FTM Consulting’s latest study, “Opportunities in Structured Cabling Systems,” indicates that the structured cabling systems market is forecast to grow at a 13.1% rate in the U.S. during the next five years.

According to the research firm, the growth rate in Canada will be three percentage points lower.

The market was impacted by the recent economic recession achieving only minimal growth or even decreases in growth during the past two years for many of the products in this market, the study notes.

Frank Murawski, president of FTM Consulting and author of the report, said suppliers need to address issues such as what are the largest markets for their products, what are the largest growth markets and what products will need to be developed in order to be competitive in the future?

“This study addresses and provides quantitative data for these issues,” Murawski said in a release.

“The analysis indicates that VoIP applications will be vital for the UTP cabling suppliers, while data centre applications will offer the largest growth market for fiber cabling systems providers. ” Further information is available at www.ftmconsultinginc.com.
