The Light Brigade doubles Canadian fiber-optic course offerings

Fiber-optic training company The Light Brigade has announced that it will provide 15 open class training sessions in Canada in 2014.

In addition to the Fiber Optics 1-2-3 and Fiber Optics for Oil and Gas programs that were offered in 2013, three new fiber optic training programs have been added: Advanced Hands-on Training, FTTx for Installers and Technicians, and Fiber Optics for Intelligent Traffic systems.

The four-day Fiber Optics 1-2-3 course comprises of 16 hours of classroom training and 16 hours of hands-on skills labs.

The courses target individuals who would like to learn how to design, install, and maintain fiber-optic communications systems in such applications as telco, broadband access, and premises (LAN) environments.

Course material is predominantly based on technician fiber installation skills and technology, and includes content applicable for FTTx and DWDM systems.

Upcoming 2014 training dates and locations are:

* Jan. 7-10 in Vancouver

* April 1-4 in Edmonton

* April 8-11 in Regina

* April 29 – May 2 in Toronto

* May 6 -9 in Halifax

* June 10-13 in Vancouver

* July 22-25 in Calgary

* July 29 – Aug 1 in Winnipeg

* Oct. 21-24 in Ottawa
