Three new Technical Reports (TRs) from the Broadband Forum is expected to play a major role in supporting telecom operators around the world with Very High bit-rate Digital Subscriber Line 2 (VDSL2) deployments, the organization says.

VDSL2 is the highest bandwidth copper-based broadband option available today, and  supports multimedia applications including IPTV. Deployed alone or in conjunction with local fiber deployments, VDSL2 advancements ensure greater broadband coverage and speeds throughout the world.

TR-114 provides a set of performance requirements and test methods that assure a consistent level of performance between the Digital Subscriber Line Access Multiplexer (DSLAM) in the network and the Customer Premises Equipment (CPE).
