The 2009 BICSI Spring Conference officially opened yesterday with more than 1,300 attendees. Sunday’s activities included several pre-conference seminars, the RCDD, NTS, OSP and WD exams, as well as the opening of an Exhibit Hall and Cabling Skills Challenge.

The exams marked a significant turning point for the NxtGEN Program. For the first time, individuals sitting for the NTS, OSP and WD specialist credentials were not required to first hold the RCDD designation.

In a keynote speech, BICSI president Ed Donelan talked about new products and services available through BICSI such as the new Electronic Safety and Security (ESS) credential with the exam available at the Fall Conference in September.
