Tampa, FL — Colin Browitt, RCDD, of Blackburn, Victoria, Australia, has been elected to serve a two-year term on the Board of Directors for BICSI, the international telecommunications association. Browitt will represent the over 500 members within BICSI Region 8, which encompasses Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Guam and other islands in the South Pacific.
As an ISO certified trainer for The Siemon Company, Browitt is a strong supporter of education for the telecommunications cabling infrastructure industry. He holds an Associate Diploma in Electronic Engineering, a Technician and Technical Officer certificate from Telecom Australia, and acquired his RCDD designation from BICSI in 1999.
He currently serves as a Director for BICSI Registered Cablers Australia (BRCA), is active with TAFE, ACA and other industry training bodies, and has served as BICSI District Chair since 1998.
“I’m extremely pleased to have been elected to represent BICSI members in the South Pacific,” said Browitt. “We have accomplished much since the BICSI Australia office first opened in 1998 and I want to continue our membership growth and educational development.” Browitt will begin his two-year term effective January 1, 2002.
