Tampa, FL — The BICSI Board of Directors has announced the appointment of Albert (Al) Feaster, RCDD, to the position of Executive Director, effective February 1, 2002.

Feaster, currently Program Manager for the Broadband Infrastructure and Access Group at ADC Telecommunications, Inc. and BICSI Board Director for Region 3, will replace Jay Warmke, BICSI’s Executive Director since 1992. Warmke submitted his resignation in November and is planning to relocate to Europe with his family.

“I feel that BICSI is indeed fortunate to secure Al Feaster as my replacement,” says Warmke. “Al brings a wealth of knowledge to the position that will ensure BICSI continues to grow and prosper over the coming years.”

Feaster has more than 20 years of experience in the telecommunications industry. Before joining ADC, he held several senior positions, including VP of Standards and Training for Ortronics, Inc. and Director of Engineering for KRONE, Inc.

In his new position, he will take over the management of the not-for-profit professional association, and provide training, technical manuals and credential exams to BICSI members.

“I’ve always enjoyed challenges and new development,” said Feaster. “After years of involvement with BICSI, I look forward to expanding our educational programs to the telecommunications industry worldwide, and to segments of the construction industry as well.”

BICSI is a professional association dedicated to advancing the careers of telecommunications infrastructure designers and installers and serving the industry with standards-based technical publications, training and registration exams. For more information, visit http://www.bicsi.org.
