MTS Allstream Inc. today launched the Allstream Collaboration Suite (ACS), part of a joint initiative with Microsoft Canada Co. that includes the latter’s Live Communications Server (LCS) and Real-Time Collaboration (RTC) technology.

ACS is an upgrade to Allstream’s Small and Mid-Sized Business Suite, designed to help small and mid-sized businesses (SMB) connect their business, protect information and collaborate.

Features of the new suite include secure instant messaging capabilities, audio/video conferencing, application and document sharing, enterprise grade Web connectivity, and journaling and archiving.

Integrated Communications is a core element of our strategy to improve collaboration through software and services built on the Office and Windows server system,” said Aisha Umar, director of unified communications at Microsoft Canada.

“Customers can (now) make better, more informed business decisions faster and share ideas and information immediately, regardless of location.”
